Materialography is a new fundamental pathway in Aalen University Department of Surface and Materials Technology. In Materialography, materials are characterized and developed under high resolution with modern analytical processes and instruments, e.g., under microscope.
You will learn how to conduct precise test preparations and how to study materials through light and electric microscopes under nano-resolution. Here the newest processes in digital image processes, thin film technology, tribology and nondestructive component testing are all available to you, not only in lectures, but also in their outstandingly equipped laboratories.
After your studies, you will have a variety of career entrance possibilities with interesting responsibilities. These range from material production to processing to analysis to digital image processing.
Your prospects might lay in classical mechanical engineering, in the automobile and aeronautical industries, in research and development of resource-conserving energy concepts, or in medical technology.
The breadth of this new study pathway offers you every possibility to develop your personal profile for a career of the future. Management positions in research, development, and production are possible in the intermediate term.
