About the programme

The study of Mechanical Engineering offers a broad range of subjects. In addition to the classical content of mechanical engineering in the design and development it provides for the use of modern computer technology and the latest working methods for the construction and use of machinery and equipment of all kinds.

Beginning with foundational subjects in mathematics and natural sciences, a wide spectrum of topics in all important engineering fields will be addressed, using typical examples from mechanical engineering. With the subjects technical drafting, CAD, machine elements, and design, the emphasis on good design and calculated construction of a product is a recurrent theme throughout the entire course of studies.

The course of studies offers three study pathways:

  • In Development, method-oriented training is extended, without any greater specialisation.
  • In Automobile Technology, mechanical engineering methods are put into use for automobiles, chiefly passenger vehicles.
  • In Process Engineering, the transformation and facilitation of materials stands in the foreground. Topics such as abrasion, corrosion, and production management are also addressed.

Career opportunity

The graduates are in demand by the industry in the various fields of mechanical engineering for design, development, production and sales strong.

The wide basis of knowledge from their course of studies enables graduates to fit themselves to specialist skills in their occupation. It gives them also the necessary flexibility for changes in their career description or when new technical advances come into the field. Because of this, their graduates are sought after in all branches of the industry. They are thus able to follow their choice of interests and inclinations and the particular abilities they have developed during their studies.
