This MA offers practical professional training in multimedia journalism, combined with advanced academic study. It provides you with a critical overview of journalistic practice in an era of globalisation and technological convergence, and offers the necessary training to equip aspiring journalists to operate across a wide range of media and contexts.
Curriculum is designed to meet the high expectations of the profession. It also reflects the changing nature of that profession, and seeks to equip you with the knowledge, skills and adaptability required by 21st-century journalists.
UK entrance requirements
A first- or upper second-class undergraduate honours degree in an appropriate discipline. They also welcome applicants who do not have this academic qualification who are able to demonstrate in their application that they have relevant professional/creative skills and experience.
Overseas entrance requirements
Sussex receives applications from all over the world and is therefore very experienced in assessing the qualifications offered by students from outside the UK.

English language requirements
IELTS 7.0, with not less than 6.5 in each section or Internet TOEFL with 100 overall including 27 in both Speaking and Writing. For more information, refer to English language requirements.
