The research group is concerned with the evolution of depositional systems and landscape to structurally imposed constraints, and with diagenetic processes. Petroleum geoscience research is a growth area involving 3D seismic interpretation of departmental systems reservoir characterisation and outcrop modelling. The research is focused on integrated studies coupling sequence stratigraphy, structural geology and sedimentary geochemistry and is split 60:40 between outcrop/modelling work and subsurface studies.
Academic entry qualification overview: A good Honours degree in Geology, Geophysics, Petroleum Engineering or related discipline. Work experience may also be taken into consideration.
English language: Overseas students would need to demonstrate competence in English Language, for example, IELTS score of 6.5.
