Course details

Mathematics and computing graduates are in great demand and enjoy a wide range of employment opportunities. This course develops key analytical skills and explores applications of the mathematical sciences and computing.

The first two years develop essential knowledge and techniques, providing a solid foundation for specialisation in the final year.

Career opportunities span the IT industry, government and business. Graduates also have a wide choice of postgraduate study opportunities in the respective specialisms.

Entry requirements

  • A-levels: BBC (typically translates to 280 points in the UCAS tariff). Must include grade B in mathematics at A-level. Free-standing mathematics units are excluded. Applicants with only 2 full A-levels or a double award will be considered on an individual basis.
  • International Baccalaureate: 30 points, specified subjects.
  • QAA-approved access course: individual assessment.
  • GCSE (minimum grade C): at least 3 subjects including mathematics and English language.
  • Foundation degree/HND direct to year 2 or 3.
  • For non-native speakers of English: IELTS 6.0 overall, 6.0 in writing.
