The two-year Master's course at the Dessau Institute of Architecture (DIA) pursues both the specifics of the European City with its urban design qualities, as well as the investigation into smaller scale self-emergent structures.
The course topics vary from large scale urban interventions to building-scale including Architectural Theory, Cultural Theory, Film and Architecture as well as Architectural Criticism or special topics on Media and Architecture.
The first three studio semester are designed to prepare for the final Master's thesis, in which candidates are expected to research a self-chosen topic and present a theoretical thesis or design thesis.
Lectures at DIA are held by international academic staff and the entire course is taught in English.
